We’re one month into the legislative session and 20 cannabis bills have been filed so far. Several Senate bills have been referred to committee, but no hearings have been scheduled yet. The House is moving a little slower this year. Speaker Burrows is expected to announce committee assignments soon, then hearings can begin.
Half of the cannabis bills that have been introduced are focused on medical cannabis, including research, patient protections, and improving the Texas Compassionate Use Program. Send a quick email to your legislators in support of medical cannabis.
